I introduced Kathryn Lord, a new blogger, earlier this month. Kathryn has begun blogging in support of her romance coaching practice. She has this to say about the experience so far:
I thought that it might interest you all to know about my recent history as a new blogger and the impact I am seeing on visitors to my website and business in general.
I did my first blog entry on February 15, 2005, so it has been less that a month now. I have not done entries every day, but probably ¾ of the days since that time. If you don’t know about blogs (I didn’t, for sure), every entry counts as a new page on your site. So I have almost doubled my sites pages in that time period.
I keep a careful watch on traffic to my site, and since my blog has gotten going, the daily visitors have at least doubled. Blog pages lead for page loads, by far. Yesterday, I talked to my first client who I know came right through my blog, because he told me so. Interestingly, at 25, he is my youngest client ever.
The other interesting number is the traffic rating for my website. FYI. I installed an Alexa tool bar (it’s free, and very handy). The tool bar automatically tells you the traffic rating of every site you visit. By comparison, Yahoo! Personals is #1. My site is 215,094 now, but I have gone UP in the ratings by 52,770 over the past month! Talk about Yahoo!
From my end, blogging is right up my alley. I’ve always had too much to say in my enewsletters, and this gives me a good outlet, while shortening my newsletter to a more manageable length.
