Interesting news from the blogosphere: A Professional Blogger’s Assocation is being formed (yours truly is a founding member). The group’s goals and projects are being formulated as you read this, and a Web site is expected in the next few days. As of today, there are officers, however:
President: Paul Chaney - Radiant Marketing
Vice President: Anita Campbell - Small Business Trends
Secretary: Tris Hussey - Larix Consulting
Treasurer: Toby Bloomberg - Diva Marketing
Board members are:
Amy Gahran - Contentious
Dana VanDen Heuvel - Internet Marketing and Sales Technology
Jeremy Wright - Ensight
Steve Rubel - Micro Persuasion
Yvonne DiVita - Lip-Sticking
I’m excited to see this evidence that blogs are to be taken seriously as business and marketing tools (for obvious reasons) and look forward to seeing how this group takes on the criticism that is already forming. Accusations of commercialization are already popping up, and while that’s true, I think it’s better for a group like this to take the lead in establishing industry standads that insure the inevitable commercialization is done with credibility and honesty.
YES
But we definitely need more “members” from Europe – anyone?
Best Regards
Hans Henrik
