Can anyone tell me why Google appears for some people to be using Answers.com instead of dictionary.com for definitions?
For me, the link still goes to Dictionary.com. But as you can see from Andy’s screenshot, Google is sending him to Answers.com. Hmmmm. If this was Windows, I’d suspect some sort of spyware hijacking. However, on a Mac using Safari, that’s unlikely.
This could mean a big change for Dictionary.com’s traffic…

* Update: I tried many more searches using Camino on a Mac, and a few of the searches did come back with links to Answers.com. I wonder if this will be a complete switch, or will it be split between the two services.
It will be a big boost for Answers.com, but not much of a change for Dicitonary.com…
It could be a cookie thing, rather than a browser thing.
cookies are specific to browsers. they each use a different place to store the files, and some will use different ways to store them.
and it is a complete switch. answers.com has replaced dictionary.com
