Good news! According the Los Angeles Times “The weblog has now reached the point in the cultural life cycle where the word is on everybody’s lips, even if most people aren’t sure what it is.”
The story is by Michael Hiltzik, and is titled ”Blog Tool Writing Its Own Story of Success.” It’s mainly a profile of Ben and Mena Trott, creators of blogging tools Movable Type and Typepad. If you’ve read a profile of the Trotts before, there’s no real need to read this one. Of most interest is the closing paragraph:
What’s next? “The future of blogging is not about bloggers who want audiences of thousands,” [CEO Barak] Berkowitz says. “The majority will be those communicating with four others or so.” He may be right: The key to making an invention useful is to turn it from a technology into a tool.
Hurray! We finally made it.
