Newsweek has added a short—very short—column called BlogWatch to its offerings. BlogWatch is a quick summary of the issues being discussed in the blogosphere. In the March 14 issue, March 14 issue - THINKSECRET.COM’s legal troubles, Garrett M. Graff’s press credential, and Google’s AutoLink toolbar are mentioned.
A little poking around shows that the BlogWatch column falls in the Tech & Science area. This is probably misplaced, as contents of the column will no doubt span everything from, say, law to politics to privacy issues.
Nonetheless, this is definitely an acknowledgment by mainstream press that the blogosphere is talking about real issues—and issues that the general public should probably know about.
