Widely rumored news about my favorite RSS reading tool today: Bloglines is being acquired by search engine Ask Jeeves.
Ask Jeeves has long been set apart from other search tools because visitors can use natural language searches, meaning you can ask a question rather than using keywords. Founded in 1996, Ask Jeeves has never achieved the popularity of Google or Yahoo! but survived the burst of the dot com bubble in fine form. Recent years have been profitable ones for the company (2004 fourth quarter earnings were $85.1 million.).
Bloglines is a free online news aggregator, with some very nice additional technology—you can publish your blogroll on your Web site, for example. Bloglines was founded by Mark Fletcher in 2003.
