Guess What Arrived Today?

Posted by Susannah Gardner on 10/14 at 10:31 AM • BitTorrent

When a book is ready to go, the author is sent 10 copies to give away, or roll around on, or whatever… Today my box of 10 arrived!

The book looks great, if I do say so myself. It’s always a little nervewracking to open up a book, and there’s a certain amount of disbelief that it could actually be real, too.

What a great way to finish a pretty rough week.

Let me take this opportunity to refer you to the BitTorrent for Dummies blog, in case you’re interested in checking out the first chapter, etc.—and perhaps even buying the book.

Need BitTorrent Stories

Posted by Susannah Gardner on 05/23 at 01:47 PM • About the Book(s) -- BitTorrent

So I mentioned a while back that I’m writing another book, and that this one is about BitTorrent.

(BitTorrent is a distributed file-sharing technology. I’m sure that explanation answers all your questions!)

I’ll post more about BitTorrent, but before I do I need a bit of help. I’d love to hear from anyone who:

  • Could help me get in touch with Bram Cohen, the creator of BitTorrent, for a short interview
  • Knows of an example of legitimate uses of BitTorrent that I can use as examples in the book (The torrent of SXSW music files is a great one.)
  • Uses BitTorrent for business or education purposes like sharing training content or software apps
  • Is a BitTorrent expert and knows just the right anecdote for the book

Thanks!

Incidentally, it’s Victoria Day here in Canada. Happy Victoria Day!
