Blogging Break

imageI’ve been on a blogging break lately, taking some time off to get some work done, and also taking some time off from both blogging and working to visit with family.

It’s been lovely to take a break, and I’m returning to blogging with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Here’s my tip for the day: Let yourself take breaks from blogging sometimes! Here’s my second tip (and the one I didn’t follow but should have): Arrange for guest authors, or set up some delayed posts so that your readers don’t have to take a break while you do.

At any rate, I thought I’d jump back into things by sharing a photo from my recent travels. This was taken with my cell phone at a restaurant on the Seattle waterfront, where apparently, their crab is caught by an unusual workforce.

P.S. Yes, I realize that this actually refers to a fishing technique and not to fairytale creatures that live under bridges. But it’s funnier if you read it that way.

Kudos to Hill & Knowlton for opening their doors to employee bloggers. You might be interested in reading the employee blog policy, to which each blogger has signed up:

  • I will never delete a post
  • I will not delete comments unless they are spam or off-topic
  • I will disclose conflicts of interest (including client relationships) where I am able to do so
  • I will not publish anything that breaches my existing employment contract
  • I will distinguish between factual information/commentary and advertising
  • I will never publish information I know to be inaccurate
  • I will disagree with other opinions respectfully
  • I will link to online references and original source materials directly
  • I will strive for high quality with every post - including basic spellchecking
