It’s not as easy as just registering the domain yourself on the day it expires. In a nutshell: it takes 75 days to fully expire, it’s likely to be grabbed by one of several domain auction sites, and instead of paying $10 for it, you’re likely to have to pay several hundred, or more, depending on how many other people have the same idea as you.
